The Cabinet Office is recruiting a new independent First Civil Service Commissioner to lead the Commission’s board, serve as its public face, and set its strategic direction. The successful applicant will lead policy development and regulatory decision-making, personally chair recruitment competitions for the most senior Civil Service roles, and Chair the Commission’s governance committees and panels, which include, the Commission’s Board, Joint Operations Committee, and Business Appointment Rules panel. 

This is a part-time appointment requiring a commitment of three days per week. The Commission supports flexible working arrangements.
