Civil Service Commission

Triennial Review of the Commission published (13 February 2015)

The Government has published Sir Gerry Grimstone’s report of his Triennial Review of the Civil Service Commission.

The Commission welcomes the Triennial Review Report and the emphasis it places on retaining the Commission as an independent regulator of recruitment to, and ethical standards within, the Civil Service.

The Report makes a number of recommendations, some about the Civil Service (which are for the Government to take forward), and some about the Commission. Several of the recommendations would require the Commission to be given new powers and many will require additional resources. The Commission will work closely with the Government to agree next steps.
