Accreditation of NDPBs
Exception 7 to the Recruitment Principles allows the transfer of individuals from other public bodies (eg non-departmental public bodies (NDPBs)) into the Civil Service to enable departments to make use of their expertise.
Under this exception, you can transfer in staff from accredited NDPBs.
Accreditation is awarded by the Civil Service Commission to an NDPB (or other body) whose recruitment policies have been judged by the Commission as complying with the Recruitment Principles ie sufficiently demonstrating the Principles of Fairness, Openness and Merit.
Individuals in accredited NDPBs are able to apply for vacancies advertised at stage 3 on the Civil Service jobs website i.e. at Civil Service wide stage and before external recruitment.
Accreditation must be renewed every three years.
